Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards date this year gained a lot of attention after he accepted her Best Video award for her, and we found out that he's homeless. While all of that gained tons of awareness for young homeless people, there are new reports that Jesse Helt is in fact wanted by police.According to NBC, Jesse was booked four years ago on a drug-related burglary attempt and is wanted in Oregon on a probation violation. Miley's pal was arrested in October 2010 for breaking into someone's apartment.
The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. Jesse spent at least three weeks in jail and was sentenced to probation and drug treatment. Since then, he violated his probation two times. He faces arrest if caught.
A Polk County sheriff's detective visited Jesse's mother's home in Salem on Tuesday, but did not find him there. He is supposedly on his way to her house as we speak.
Miley spoke out about the legal drama surrounding her homeless buddy Jesse on Twitter. "People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included. I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it. Does looking down upon the homeless help people excuse their inaction? The media never fails to disappoint. You've chosen to go after Jesse instead of covering the issue of youth homelessness :(," she posted.
